2/12/19 #9 Michigan State @ #9 Wisconsin
Michigan State has been a final four pick of many analysts but they certainly haven’t looked like one lately. They have struggled mightily lately losing 3 of 4 but Cassius Winston is a Big Ten player of the year candidate and he has a monster game. Nick Ward for Michigan State has been wildly inconsistent lately but I think him and Kenny Goins both have big games and the two big men limit Ethan Happ in this one. I like Michigan State on the road in a close one.
2/16/19 #17 Iowa State @ Kansas State
Although Kansas has been dominant in the Big 12 for over a decade, I believe one of these teams will take home the Big 12 title this year. This game brings together one of the best offenses and a smothering defense as Iowa State comes in scoring almost 80 points a game and Kansas State holds teams to under 60 a game. I think Iowa State is a final four team and they continue to roll in this one. I do think Kansas State will keep it close because of their defense but the Cyclones just have too much firepower. Iowa State has one of the best players in the country that no one talks about. Marial Shayok, a transfer from Virginia, has a monster game in this one.
2/16/19 #1 Tennessee @ #5 Kentucky
Two top 5 teams battle in this SEC matchup at Rupp Arena. Tennessee comes in with an 18 game winning streak with two dynamic vaterans in Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield. Kentucky has won 10 games in a row themselves and bring their newest freshman class led by PJ Washington and Tyler Herro. Both of these teams are two of the best in the country but Kentucky is starting to look like the final four team that everyone predicted preseason. This game will be close but Kentucky prevails.
